This is the section of the site where I try to explain a little bit about who I am and what I'm doing here. This task is complicated by the fact that I only have a vague idea of what I'm doing here and no idea who I am. All I can give you is some adjectives and adjective phrases that describe me: skinny artistic redhead vegan seeker with proclivities for depression and trying to save the world. Details inside. (There was a noun in there too.)

My alias is Dracumancer because I used to be a pretty melodramatic kid with an affinity for all things dragon. I've kept the name for the sake of ease and consistancy. The name of the site in its current encarnation, Through the Cracks, was inspired by weeds and grasses growing through broken concrete.

A long time ago I thought I would write fiction professionally. At that point I didn't realize how extraodinarily difficult that would be—both writing it, and selling it. I discovered that I wasn't nearly prolific enough to support myself through writing, but I thought I might make some money doing it on the side. It's something I enjoy after all. I originally established this site, in a prior encarnation, in order to begin to get feedback on my writing so that I might improve.

These days the idea of taking money to let someone see a piece of art I've created is unappealing to say the least. I look at art (including the art of the written word) as a way to communicate things that our ordinary language doesn't have words for. Art has the potential to allow dorment emotions and ideas to come to the surface as we see a little of ourselves manifested on the page. Art is a way for the lonely parts of people to connect. That's why I'm putting all this material out there on the web I guess. To connect.

I welcome and appreciate any sort of feedback on any of my work.
